Battle of the Bands presented by <a href=\"https:\/\/oakhighlandsbrewery.com\/\">Oak Highlands Brewery <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/thezoorocks.com\/\">The Zoo<\/a>. The competition begins with a qualifier round featuring up to 12 bands on April 18 at 2:00 p.m. at <a href=\"https:\/\/oakhighlandsbrewery.com\/\">Oak Highlands Brewery.<\/a><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"383\" data-end=\"649\">During the qualifier, a panel of judges will select two bands to advance directly to the finals at Wildflower!. An additional two bands will move on to an online fan-vote contest, where audiences will decide who earns the coveted third finalist spot.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"651\" data-end=\"1007\">All three finalists will perform live at the festival on Sunday, May 17, on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texanscu.org\/?gad_source=1&amp;gad_campaignid=21648799861&amp;gbraid=0AAAAAD8TWJkPcnsT1LNMcQPUC9EBjDWBe&amp;gclid=Cj0KCQiAxonKBhC1ARIsAIHq_lsPx4gk9WN4vPgdSpQGYutAr-BY1_OW7D4MyO5rvHuU3EAN7tg7TRgaAtN8EALw_wcB\">Texans Credit Union Stage<\/a>, in front of the Wildflower! audience. From these performances, a Grand Prize Winner and Runner-Up will be selected. A qualifier round hosting up to 12 bands takes place prior to the festival. At the judges\u2019 and producer\u2019s discretion, 2 bands are selected outright to compete in the finals at the Festival and an additional 2-3 bands are selected to compete in an online fan\u2019s choice contest for the third finalist slot.&nbsp; The Finals are held on the Plaza Stage at <strong>Wildflower!<\/strong><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:spacer {\"height\":50} -->\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<!-- \/wp:spacer -->\n\n<!-- wp:spacer {\"height\":50} -->\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<!-- \/wp:spacer -->\n\n<!-- wp:separator {\"className\":\"is-style-default\"} -->\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-default\"\/>\n<!-- \/wp:separator -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading {\"level\":3} -->\n<h3>Contest Rules<\/h3>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:list -->\n<ul><li> Bands wishing to participation in Battle of the Bands  must complete an online application. <\/li><li>All band members must be between the ages of 14 and 19.<\/li><li>Minimum of 3 members in each band.<\/li><li>At least half of the members must be current students in grades 6-12 (3 member band = 2&nbsp;current students, 4 member band = 2 current students, 5 member band = 3 current students) <\/li><\/ul>\n<!-- \/wp:list -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading {\"level\":4} -->\n<h4>Qualifier Round Requirements <\/h4>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:list -->\n<ul><li>The qualifier round will host up to 12 bands.<\/li><li>Each band will be allowed to play one 15-minute set and must play at least (1) original song and (1) cover song of a <strong>Wildflower!<\/strong>&nbsp;Arts and Music Festival headliner. Band may choose to play full cover song or at minimum a 2-minute excerpt and are encouraged to interpret\/adapt the cover song to their style\/genre.<\/li><li>At the judges\u2019 and producer\u2019s discretion, 2-3 bands will be selected outright to compete in the finals  and an additional 2-3 bands will be selected to compete in an online fan\u2019s choice contest for the third and finalist slot.<\/li><li>All band performances will be videotaped for possible online contest and\/or for use by&nbsp;<strong>Wildflower!<\/strong>&nbsp;to publicize the contest.<\/li><li>No foul language, or crude\/offensive\/vulgar behavior of any kind on stage, in lyrics, off stage, or otherwise. Absolutely no moshing (audience included) and proper attire must be worn at all times.<\/li><li>Band members are only allowed on stage during their set. Bands or band members who go on stage while another band is competing will be disqualified from the competition.<\/li><li>Winning bands will be determined by a panel of judges based on the following criteria:<ul><li>Musical talent as determined by our panel of judges<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Crowd noise and enthusiasm<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Showmanship of band members<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Ability to follow contest rules and perform at least one (1) original song and one (1) cover song within one 15-minute set<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Originality of cover song.
